Garlic Naan

I love making garlic naan. My mom would show me how to make it when I was younger. I finally started to make it on my own. I feel like moving into this apartment on campus has made me cook more. I love making a lot of garlic naan to have. It is so good with butter chicken. Also it is good to pair with hummus. Garlic naan is so flavorful and you will love it especially if you love garlic! I would share my food with my friends and they would also share their food with me. It is so good to bond over food. Back at home me and my friends would all get together and have a potluck. A potluck is when everybody brings a different dish of food to make a complete meal. I normally would bring my garlic naan to it. It is so much fun to share all different types of foods from different cultures with my friends. I feel like food brings people together.
Let me know down below in the comments what is your favorite food to share with your friends.

Garlic Naan is a flatbread that is apart of Indian cuisine which is the perfect side dish for butter chicken. It is very soft and the mixture of garlic, butter, and cilantro goes perfect together. You will not regret making this!

Ingredients:

Dough:

- 2 teaspoons of dry yeast

- 1 teaspoon of white sugar

- 3 cups of all purpose flour

- 1/3 cup of plain whole yogurt

- 2 tablespoons of warm water

- 1/4 cup of canola oil

- 2/3 cup of warm water

- 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Garlic Butter:

- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter

- 2 teaspoons of minced garlic

- 1/4 teaspoon of salt

- 2 tablespoons of cilantro

Instructions:

Step 1: You need to activate your yeast!

Get a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons of warm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Then pour in the dry yeast and stir it. After you're done stirring put a paper towel over the bowl and wait 10 minutes. Once it gets foamy and you see bubbles that means your yeast is activated.

Step 2: Get a large bowl and add the flour, yogurt, warm water, proofed yeast, and canola oil. You can mix it with a rubber spatula at first and then you can knead the dough with your hands.

Step 3: Put the dough in an oiled bowl and then put saran wrap or aluminum foil on top of the bowl. Add a damp warm towel on top to let the dough rise. This will take and hour and a half.

Step 4: When you are waiting for the dough you can begin to make the garlic butter. Take a microwaveable bowl and place your butter in it to melt it. Once that has melted put cilantro in the mixture and add the 1/4 teaspoon of salt and then add the minced garlic.

Step 5: After the dough has risen you can make palm size balls of dough. Get a plate and put oil on it. Once you have done that put your dough on the plate and begin to spread it starting from the middle and then out to the sides until it is thin.

Step 6: Begin to heat up your pan to medium heat. Once the pan has heated up place the dough on it and wait until it has gotten golden brown and then flip. Keep an eye on the naan bread because it can easily get burned. Each time you remove the naan from the pan add the garlic butter on it.

Step 7: Enjoy!
